Mike’s
foundation in computers began in Silicon Valley
at 12 years old learning to program in the BASIC
language on Apple and Tandy PCs. This interest
continued and at 16 he started a team that began
writing PC and BBS games in Seattle, WA. After
high school, he began residential and small business
system support as an independent consultant. Upon relocating
to North Carolina in 1997, he went to work for United Southern Industries, Inc.
as an IT Technician and Network Administrator.
In 2001, he left USI, resumed independent consultation,
and started ID Studios, a non-profit development
studio. As Project Leader, he led an international
team in the development of PC game modifications
over the next 4 years, winning multiple awards,
and was featured in PC Game magazines internationally
as well as on many popular websites such as FilePlanet.com,
IGN.com, and SimHQ.com.
In 2004, he began serving
as the Chairman of the Technology Committee and
Technology Facilitator at Trinity School, Inc.
and soon after joined City Computers.
Although he left Trinity School in 2007, Mike
continues to assist local private and charter
schools and non-profit organizations that are both found locally and abroad.
